"Prayer Is"

by Gail E. Dudley

Prayer is having a conversation with God. It’s talking to Him. It’s sharing every-thing about yourself with Him. It’s crying. It’s laughing.

Prayer is going to God and seeking Him with your entire heart, but most importantly it is coming away with His heart and trusting all He shares with you. It may be a word. It may be peace in your spirit. It may be a still, small voice. It may be a Scripture you have read. It may be silence.

Prayer is going to God totally open and available to hear His truth and His direction for your life and for the broader community. More importantly, one must be obedient to all He speaks into your spirit.

Prayer is having an open and honest conversation with Jesus.

Prayer is a way of life.

Prayer is falling in love with Jesus. When you are falling in love with Jesus and becoming more intimate with Him through prayer, you will learn His voice.

In randomly interviewing Christians for a year, I found one of every three shared that they do not pray because they have no idea what to pray for or how to pray.  Have you felt as though you cannot pray because you do not know what to say?   Please join in the conversation and place your comments below.
